Are you graduating this summer?

While UNI does not hold a commencement ceremony during the summer term, many students will complete their degree and graduate.  Please make sure you have filled out a graduation application within myUNIverse.  If you have any questions, please contact the Office of the Registrar at registrar@uni.edu or 319-273-2241.

New Directory Information “Release for Publication” Option Now Available to Students

A new Release for Publication option allows students to be included in publicized Dean's lists, graduation lists, and announcements of other awards even if they want to withhold release of their directory information to third parties for other purposes.  To review your directory information and the options available to you, log into MyUNIverse, go to Update My Personal Information, and click on the Privacy tab.

Commencement Information

Your big day is almost here!  Over 1500 UNI graduates will cross the stage on Saturday. Graduates, please arrive to the connector between the UNIDome and the McLeod Center one hour before your ceremony time.  The connector is where the ticket office is off of the plaza. You will see the big white tent and the panther statue. Look for signs.  Once you check in, you will stage in the UNIDome.Parking is a bit hectic on Commencement Day, so consider walking over to the UNIDome or parking closer to the main campus.  The weather is expected to be gorgeous on Saturday!If you have not purchased your cap and gown, you still can by stopping by UNI Bookstore.  They are open Saturday but may not be open at a convenient time, so please take care of this before Saturday morning!!  Commencement Information can be found here:  www.uni.edu/commencementYou will be receiving an email with more details and instructions for Saturday's ceremony.  Please make sure to read that email.  Enjoy the rest of the week and we will see you soon!  Go Panthers!

Grad Fair - Wednesday, March 1, 2017

Are you graduating this May?  Don't forget about the Grad Fair on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 from 10am-6pm in the Maucker Union Ballrooms B & C.  What is at the Grad Fair? Well there are a lot of fun things there for you:

  • food
  • prizes
  • meet with your Record Analyst to go over your final degree requirements to graduate
  • RSVP to the commencement ceremony and apply to graduate
  • take some pictures!
  • record a short video for your family and friends to be shown prior to the commencement ceremony in McLeod
  • say hi to TC! He wants to see you before you leave UNI!!
  • have your resume critiqued by Career Services
  • meet with Financial Aid 
  • buy your commencement gown
  • and much more....

 The Grad Fair is a fun and informative event with various offices available to make sure your transition is smooth.  We look forward to seeing you next Wednesday!!

Welcome New Students and Returning Students

The Office of the Registrar welcomes all new students to the University of Northern Iowa and welcomes back all returning students.  We hope you are excited for Fall semester 2016.  A few reminders to help your semester go smoothly:

  • If you are adding a course that is currently closed, please secure the proper signatures on the add/drop form.
  • Transcripts can be ordered through MyUNIverse.
  • If you are adding and dropping courses during the first two weeks of classes, please remember that your bill will automatically update; if you go below full time, you will possibly receive a refund. If you add a class and go back to full time, that tuition will be added back to your bill.
  • Our office hours are 8am-5pm Monday -Friday. You can reach us also by phone, email or even on social media (FB, twitter).
  • We love Purple Friday!!  Stop by on Friday to show your panther spirit!!

ADA Syllabus Statement

Faculty members can help normalize the accommodation process by making an announcement during the first class meeting or by voluntarily including an Americans with Disabilities (ADA) statement on their class syllabus inviting students with disabilities to meet with the faculty member during office hours to discuss accommodation needs. The Student Accessibility Services has developed the following syllabus statement for your use:

The University of Northern Iowa (UNI) complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act of 2008 (ADAAA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Fair Housing Act, and other applicable federal and state laws and regulations that prohibit discrimination on the basis of disability. To request accommodations, it is the policy of the University for students with disabilities to register with Student Accessibility Services (SAS). UNI faculty are not obligated to provide accommodations for students with disabilities without proper notification from SAS and the student. Students may initiate the accommodation process at any time. However, accommodations are not retroactive, and the registration process takes time. Therefore, SAS staff always recommends that students initiate the process as soon as possible rather than wait for academic and social-emotional responsibilities to become overly stressful and/or overwhelming.
