Post-Baccalaureate Students
Students with a baccalaureate degree who wish to attend UNI as an undergraduate student, will need to fill out and electronically submit the Post Baccalaureate Application for Admission. Additional information regarding returning to UNI can be found by visiting the Office of Admissions.
Students who have a recognized baccalaureate degree may return to the University of Northern Iowa as an undergraduate student to pursue one of the following programs:
- Second baccalaureate degree
- Teacher licensure
- Non-degree undergraduate with baccalaureate degree

This requires submission of official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended since your last enrollment at UNI. With this category, a student will be classified as a senior.
Teacher Licensure
This is for acquiring original licensure or adding new endorsements through UNI recommendation - NOT for renewals or Board of Education Examiners minimum requirements. This may require admission to Teacher Education and submission of official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended since your last enrollment at UNI. This program requires the completion of a minimum of 12 semester hours at the University of Northern Iowa before recommendation to the Board of Educational Examiners will be made. With this category, you will be classified as a senior for registration purposes.
Non-Degree Undergraduate with Baccalaureate Degree
Including license renewal and Board of Educational Examiners minimum requirements. With this category, you will be considered an unclassified student. This program requires verification of a previous Baccalaureate Degree or submission of official transcripts from a degree-granting institution.
