Dropping a Course
Understand the Difference
Drop:
Removing one or multiple courses from your schedule but remaining in at least one (1) course.
Withdrawal:
Removing ALL courses from your schedule for a semester. Click here for information on withdrawing from the whole semester.
All the information below pertains only to DROPPING a course, not withdrawing from the semester
- Determine How It Will Affect You
Before dropping from a course, you should:
- Talk with your Academic Advisor to answer these questions:
- How will dropping affect your progress with your degree? Will this affect your graduation term?
- What grade will be assigned for the dropped course?
- Talk with the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships:
- The Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships monitors semester hours of enrollment for students who are receiving financial aid. Grants are pro-rated accordingly based on enrollment at the time of disbursement and, again, following the first 10 days of class. Dropping classes may impact Direct Loans eligibility through the entire academic year. Please contact the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships for more details.
