Dropping a Course

Understand the Difference

Drop:
Removing one or multiple courses from your schedule but remaining in at least one (1) course.

Withdrawal:
Removing ALL courses from your schedule for a semester. Click here for information on withdrawing from the whole semester.

All the information below pertains only to DROPPING a course, not withdrawing from the semester

Determine How It Will Affect You

Before dropping from a course, you should:

  • Talk with your Academic Advisor to answer these questions:
    • How will dropping affect your progress with your degree? Will this affect your graduation term?
    • What grade will be assigned for the dropped course?
  • Talk with the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships:
    • If you are receiving financial aid, dropping a course may affect your aid for the current and/or future terms
  • Review the Deadlines (see below)
Deadlines for Dropping Courses

The full drop schedule is available in the Schedule of Classes and in the Dates to Observe.
